Global Civils partners with India based Jindal Steel & Power on road construction project across the Indian sub continent.

Global Civil Solutions (GCS) has been contracted to assist Jindal Steel & Power with a large scale road construction project in India. The first site that is currently underway is located at Angul.

Global Civils provides ongoing consulting support to Jindal Steel and Power to assist with the correct usage and application of its unique natural soil stabiliser product.

The natural soil stabiliser product has been designed to assist with the stabilisation of a wide spectrum of soils in an efficient, least-cost manner. It is a proven, environmentally-friendly, inorganic, hydration activated powder-based stabiliser that reacts with the soil particles to create layers that are inter-connected through a complex inter-particle framework.

The soil stabiliser is currently being used for construction of roads in Angul with positive and encouraging results proving the stabiliser functionality. The soil stabiliser powder was mixed with the in-situ soil, adding suitable moisture content and compacted on site to construct the sub base and base layers of pavement.

After constructing the pavement, Dynamic cone penetrometer tests indicated a significant increase in the strength of pavement. CBR value of the sub base pavement layer was 86% after 28 days which is far ahead of the prescribed limits.

After construction of base layer, the pavement has been opened to heavy industrial traffic without the construction of PQC or bitumen layer and no damage or problem has been reported. Moreover positive reviews have been received about the good rider quality that the new pavement has provided.
